The PDIS design system is built for development teams making websites of the government digital services in Taiwan. With solid design and engineering, it’s an iterative and collaborative guideline that helps both designers and engineers to easily follow, create and customise accessible, mobile-friendly government websites.

Front-end Development / CSS in Javascript

With very limited programming experience, I was always curious about making prototypes through codes rather than just mockups. In 2021 I began my front-end skills learning journey by building my own portfolio website. Through learning from recent website production tools and technologies, I made it from scratch with a lot of trials and errors. The learning process and the result might not be as expected as I imagined at the beginning, but they have brought me a different perspective on modern website production.

Design Research

After reading the book “Drawdown : The most comprehensive plan ever proposed to reverse global warming”, I was personally curious about how we individuals can take action on climate change issues. This side project was focused on opportunities that can eliminate the carbon footprint associated with household food waste.

The beginning of Bridge was motivated by my previous experience in teaching. After I noticed that a new education reform in Taiwan had been made to look beyond test-driven pedagogy in 2019, I was personally curious about whether the society is ready for the big change. In this project, to ensure I was designing solutions for the real problem, I collaborated with my previous colleagues in Na-Ba primary school where the change has come. Through the human-centred design process we discovered opportunities and designed solutions that can bridge the gap between policy and implementation.

The Playbook for the King’s Cross Bun was a project I developed with a biologist Shun-Te Wang, supported by Dr Maria Chang of the King’s Cross Bun Project. It aimed to help the King’s Cross Bun Project, an initiative that was promoting heritage grains in London, to create its organisational development plan.
